The planning on the U.S. side and its pro-Russia bias leaves no option for Ukraine.Trump is spending every day coming up with worse and worse plans for subdividing Ukraine. Forget it. Let Russia take its knocks. With luck their economy will fall apart. We can hope.

I will never forgive the people who voted for the current regime. They are responsible for everything that results from the actions of the treasonous traitor that occupies the white house.

Man, I hope Merz can pull off full aid to Ukraine, very much including supplying Taurus missiles. It'll mostly come down to that.

Do you know how many of those Germany has in stock?

Also, Zelensky exposing Hippo Don's administration - I think he played that beautifully. Low key. Determined. And with a small hand...

They have two things in the right place: production of medium-range IRIS-T units and a robust missile manufacturing pipeline. So that’s very, very good. Artillery shell production is also in a solid position. It’s not yet where it needs to be—you still need more—but Germany alone is now producing 2,200 shells per day.

What’s urgently needed is movement on the Taurus missile order. The current Taurus stockpile remains a closely guarded secret, but it's believed they have a few hundred units. The key will be the size of the next order. Once that goes through, it could enable the UK and France to release their own Storm Shadow/SCALP stockpiles, knowing they can be replenished. That would help bridge the current gap and eventually allow reliance on steady monthly production.

Nobody else can save Ukraine besides the US. Lucky for them they got minerals, because otherwise Trump wouldn’t be even interested to help them. There enough problems in the US.

And hoping for an EU help? Good luck with that! Look at the Romanian election, for instance. EU is a bag of culturally and politically unrelated countries, at the end it’s just a talk, no action. And they don’t have the money or army.

Even, if the mineral would stay in Ukraine, they don’t have resources to develop them, the same for Russia.

So Zelensky better offer them to the US, the US is only reliable partner Ukraine has.

The US under the current regime IS NOT a reliable partner-it's a back-stabbing Putin puppet

I don't agree with your judgment that the U.S. is a credible partner. Even if Trump were sufficiently seduced by minerals, he like Putin is a predator who won't respect deals he makes. So there is no point in hoping.

I think your cynical view of Europe is credible. But they are moving in the right direction. Yes, it is unprecedented for Europe to cooperate on security, but they now have existential need. Ukraine falling is not survivable with the U.S. & RU aligned.

Existentional need doesn’t mean anything to Europe. As far as they are concerned, they are the chosen ones, have there been for ages, no one is going to fight. Plus financially broken and all of these Africans and Arabs there, who absolutely don’t care - a chaos.

Trump is the chaos too, but at least somewhat organized and not a zombie, he shows some action after his words. While EU is all words but no action

I call bullshit on Monika. The Europeans have been invaded and had bloody world wars on their soil twice in the last century. They aren't going to stand for being invaded again. Giving the Taurus to Ukraine would scare the scheisse out of Russia. As it should.

Trump is so much worse than chaotic. Your description of Trump could be applied equally aptly to Putin, even if Putin is actually more a man of action. You are unable to see that Trump is fully aligned with Putin. The nationalist right shares a delusion that Trump is pulling a reverse-Kissinger. Regardless, the evidence that Trump is acting to weaken and plunder Ukraine in concert with Russia is by now plain.

How about all the help Ukraine is getting from the US vs EU? French miracle airplanes/ fighting jets are not so miraculous after all. Production and training of the Ukrainian pilots is painfully slow.

But I have to go to work now.

Maybe continue tomorrow, so long as, good by, auf wiedersehen…

As a European, I truly believe what I wrote. Stick to your opinions and we will see. EU broke and ununified. I knew it was a bad idea to to get countries like Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and such to EU.

Balkans and very Eastern Europe were never democracies and they have a different mind set.
