Love this Shankar: "Sometimes you can’t break the wheel of an empire. Sometimes, you don’t have to. Just loosen the screws, and the wheels will come off on their own."
Fingers crossed that this is indeed the case for the evil orc empire....
This is why I’m a paid subscriber! You inform and connect the dots like no one else. The wheels are coming loose snd I hope this gives confidence to those under the thumb that now is the time to act!
Always good to look at strategic moves especially by Ukraine, incredible. What is the US doing from the main SF base in Djibouti? Working separately or possibly in concert? Hope it is the latter.
Excellent piece as always. Ukraine is the little engine that could. So much determination, so clever. I am deeply grateful to them for helping to corner Putin. A world with fewer refugees would be wonderful. The discord in Europe might subside. Fear of Putin might also seem like a manageable problem. If he can’t have Ukraine it will be some time until he sees another opening in another former Soviet republic. I imagine Putin’s defense ministers are thinking they would like a vacation outside Russia—possibly in an unknown location. Putin got to big for his britches, and must now retrench. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

Hope desperately that all goes well in Syria.
Syria will take time to settle down. There are three factions.
