Now that Germany is picking up the banner of world leadership that the US has dropped, we have finally come full circle on WWII. Germany is the hero now!

No, Germans are not picking world leadership, too small for that and we didn’t drop our leadership. Simply delegated Europe/Germany to take care of their continent with our help.

If you've been reading this sub stack, you will know that Mers volunteered to buy the weapons for Ukraine from Trump. It was his idea. That doesn't sound like delegation, that sounds like initiative.

We didn’t drop our leadership? What leadership? Trump apparently didn’t even know that Hegseth cancelled the Patriot shipments to begin with.

So please explain to us plain folk, who exactly is steering the ship in the US?…:)

It was only six months ago that the Biden administration was leading the effort to arm Ukraine. I don't know about you but I remember US leadership not so very long ago.

Good news, and the sooner it materializes, the better. Every day my heart bleeds for the innocents whose lives are being shredded in this so-called conflict, which is a war of egregious aggression, fomented by a psychopath who wants nothing more than to cling to power, no matter the cost to human life and wellbeing. One of several similar known and lesser known 'conflicts' around the world. At last, Europe is facing up to the fact that we must stop Putin, at least, dead in his tracks. Fingers crossed.

Tremendous. I will happily eat my 0% faith and revamp my mindset. The 50 day drive and deadline shines a light in what seemed like a dead end. Thank you Shankar! Yesterday I received and email from United24. the New project Ukraine is raising money for is for ground robotshttps://u24.gov.ua/allies-of-steel. If a robot can replace a defender — it should

Robots decrease the number of people who have to risk themselves on the frontline. That directly equals saved lives. Ground robotic platforms help carry out remote missions in hard-to-reach areas—so that soldiers don’t become live targets for enemy drones"

“That report became the cornerstone of my confidence in the deal. I never doubted it for a second. Because when a head of state makes a private promise to another head of state, they usually keep it…..It’s almost a code.”

Bravo Shankar, “Mea Culpa” complete…:)

Although, I wouldn’t put much stock in the above statement. For those who think Trump has a code, or will ever deal from the top of the deck; they’re truly suffering from “normalcy bias,” and in need of a good therapist!…:)

That said, I truly hope this change is our NEW official policy. However, as the wise man once said, “it’s a good start, but we shall see!”

Ukraine will FINALLY get the military support it always deserved! No real thanks to America’s wealthy elite!

Wealthy elites donating to both the Democratic and Republican Parties always supported Putin!

These Global Oligarchs hoped Putin could weaken Europe’s front door, Ukraine! Then, they could enrich themselves in a weakened European Union!

Remember BOTH political parties argued against sending full aerial defense of Ukrainian society!

Global wealth sacrificed an entire generation of innocent civilians to enrich themselves!

“Go easy on Putin,” they argue!Putin might use nuclear weapons!

Their final “scare tactic,” what if Putin is overthrown? God forbid! “Who might replace him?

What about those nukes?”

These greedy hypocrites will insinuate themselves at the negotiating table!

Watch out!

The Western alliance for democracy MUST NOT cave at the negotiating table!

Democracy MUST stand firm against Putin’s crimes against humanity! Ignore the global rich!

Remember the facts!

Putin relentlessly bombed Ukraine’s civilian society for over three years - people’s apartments, their schools, & hospitals, killing hundreds of thousands of innocents!

Putin ordered the invasion of elderly villages and massacred its inhabitants in cold blood!

Putin ordered the kidnapping of thousands of Ukrainian children and is hiding them in Russian camps for resettlement in Russian society!

What price will the Western democracies demand for these atrocities?

Putin MUST be ordered to stand trial for war crimes at the International Criminal Court!

Period!

Anything less is a travesty of justice!

Totally agree. One doesn't negotiate when one is winning.

It would make no sense if Europe finally provided Ukraine with the means to win this war, and then pressured Ukraine to enter peace negotiations.

I think 'forcing Putin to the negotiating table' is just theatre.

The Europeans are going for the kill - like they've always done - and the talks are to sattisfy Hippo Don and the likes...

Trump only agreed to sell those Patriots to Merz because Putin embarrassed him!

Trump was hoping (most foolishly) that he could end the war in Ukraine and win a Nobel Peace Prize!

Remember, Obama got one!

Trump, being the man-child he is, wanted one too!

Trump hates Obama more than anyone else in the world!

Obama emceed Trump’s “roasting” at the annual National Press Club’s dinner(2014?)

Obama landed some very funny punches and Trump never forgets the humiliation!

I'm still baffled by the fact it is Germany, although belatedly, that has stepped up support for Ukraine, and not France, or at least, less so.

If I'd have had to put money on either even a year ago, I'd have chosen France, because the French have made an art of playing power games, even if they don't have the money or the army to back those games up.

Still, here we are.

Kudos to Germany, Merz and Pastorius in particular!

I am happy to read this positive push for Patriots going to Ukraine. It’s important for governments to provide weapons and large scale defense. But I will continue to do my small things and not just applaud, because that is in my power. Calling Congress and donating to Ukraine.

Hegseth would only have lowered the tone. Good. I’m liking this 50 day push. If they can just ramp things up enough to make life unpleasant for Putin (very unpleasant) I will be pleased. Not that anyone cares if I am not leased or not. But I am grateful for the carefully considered exposition of where we are with regard to weapons for Ukraine. Thank you.

Overall, how does Ukraine’s production rate of drones compare to Russia’s? I am losing track.

Today’s news coupled with the economic moves from the EU should begin to worry Putin.
