I get the need to use information for support purposes but not to the extent that they might give away their manoeuvre in advance. My concern is that giving too much away would still give Trump the chance to lie and deceive in league with Putin. Then again, perhaps I am too cautious.
Watching, waiting, and reading your analyses. I agree that if they had been up front with info I would not have been left wondering when we got reporting along Putin’s talking points. I understand it was wrong, but needed your posts to confirm that. Others must have been much more confused than I. Better for Ukraine to report out, I agree.
I’m not following your admonition that Ukraine’s military leadership must be transparent in what they’re doing when you follow that advice with this: “I believe Syrski is running a deception operation—one so unpredictable that I can’t pin down his exact strategy. And if I can’t, chances are Russian commanders can’t either.” If he was transparent as you urge, then you would know what he is doing and so would the Russians. Why shouldn’t Ukraine exploit the fog of war as much as Putin and Chump?
I think it's a Rope-a-Dope a my dude. I could be wrong but I think the silence is so Russia fills the void. Group think sets in and they all convince themselves Ukraine is weaker than they are.
So Russia advances believing their own BS and gets hammered with stretched supply lines and gets cut off during a potentially messy retreat.
Ukraine knows Putin's never gonna have a better opportunity than he does now. He has to fight while Ukraine just needs to hang on. Putin needs to win a big victory to enhance a diminishing political move.
A really blood, horrible and costly loss on the Russian side with the whole world's eyes on it? Mannnn you can't hide that. I don't care how good your propaganda is.
Again I could be wrong. This is very much a hot take. I'm making a LOT of assumptions and inferences but my gut is telling me rope-a-dope just from the moves we're seeing.
With the people who really matter, the people who will continue to fund Ukraine, they know. Having said that I am unclear why you think Syrskyi should clarify what’s going on. Is cloaking not more important? Whether Trump and Putin spread their shit across the world is almost irrelevant now, is it not? Because they will pull the rug out from under Ukraine every single chance they get.
I'm not suggesting he disclose his specific objectives, but for actions that are clearly visible—like relocating twenty brigades overnight—he should simply acknowledge that the brigades have been repositioned.
Like this: As part of our ongoing strategic operations, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have successfully completed a series of actions in the northern sector, including in the Kursk direction. These operations have achieved their intended objectives—disrupting enemy logistics, degrading their capacity to conduct offensive actions, and drawing Russian forces away from critical frontlines.
With these objectives accomplished, we are now repositioning our forces to prepare for the next phase of operations. This is not a retreat but a recalibration—ensuring our troops are best positioned for future success.
My problem is that Ukrainians are asking me what's happening in Kursk—and that’s a bad sign. You have to stay ahead of events. That’s what Churchill did. He was a propagandist in his own way, but he understood the power of keeping people informed and believing in victory. And in the end, he won.

yep, exactly.
This is one of many reasons your exposes are so important - credible information in many forms.

Sometimes a retreat is just a retreat, not some genius 4D chess manoeuvre.
Omg! Everything about this is horrifying
I know—Ukraine could have prevented this. Not the withdrawal itself, but the way Putin and Trump seized the narrative to spread their lies unchecked.

I’m confused about this

Explain it without explaining it.
