Thanks Shankar, we squeaked thru, so thankful more Canadians saw Mark Carney’s steady leadership as the best way forward. Sadly some Canadians wanted a Conservative win “for change.” It begs the question, change what?

Change Women’s Rights to Male rule and privilege?

Change Minority and immigrant rights to White Male Privilege?

Change LGBTQI2S rights to White Male Hetero Privilege?

Change our Government-endowed Civil Rights to the Notwithstanding Clause, wielded by White Male Hetero-privileged ideologues who hate the rest of us?

Over 140 MP’s were elected to enact the above changes by Canadian voters. They did exactly what the Americans did: either loved the CPC hate message, or ignored it and only voted against the LPC. Shocking to know how much Conservative (& Republican) Party supporters hate Canada, Canadians, and humanity.

So, we can take a breath right now, just long enough to refresh for the battles ahead.

Thank you Canada, for electing Mark Carney 💪 ❤️🇨🇦❤️

Congratulations to Mark Carney for his presence in his country and to Canada for their wisdom. I used to notice him in interviews and how he presented as Governor of the Bank of England and thought then, that he seemed to present a calm, discerning and balanced view of many things either related to his business role and now in his position in Canada. I hope he will continue to remain undaunted and resolute about his role as Leader of the Free World along with others too…as there is no doubt, he’s head and shoulders above the others.

In the NYTIMES today there is also another worthy read too about the effects of the ‘trade war’ being waged against other countries through the ‘Wall of Tariffs - my terminology - for the current financial crisis being engineered by Trump’s efforts to assert himself as a dominant figure in the global landscape. It is prescient.

Possibly Australia needs a mention too, depending on how their upcoming election goes: Dutton appears to be TrumpLite and his policies more akin to MAGA rather than those of Albanese.

Both the UK and Australia have had an overly close relationship with the USA; in view of Trump’s apparent willingness to abandon friends and break agreements, those relationships may need to be reviewed.

I am buoyed by your characterization of ours as a time of transition. As an American I have long deplored our stance as not so much an ally as a bully, most especially under Trump, but we can't justifiably deny how we've thrown our weight around since the 1960's, if not before. I would rather us form alliances of mutual respect and regard. And not only that, but we (all nations, ultimately) need to move away from corrupt relations with the entrenched wealthy, if they are not willing to pay their share of taxes and follow the laws protecting the environment and avoiding climate disasters. This is the work of generations, and it is good work, allowing for a cascade of other good works, and may be the saving of us yet.

I wanted a clear majority, but we can’t have everything. And let us see how long the CPC holds onto Poilievre if he (predicted) loses his seat as well.

I’m alarmed at the popular vote. A lot of stupids still voted for stupidity. Our work will never be over. Anywhere.

42% is scary. This can really go sideways next time. have to be very careful here.

PP lost his Seat and Liberals are at 168 with 8 ridings to be determined- too close to call at this point. 172 required for majority. I am beyond relieved that Mark Carney has been elected as our Prime Minister. A calming and steady presence in the world wide storm. It is a beautiful day here in Nova Scotia🇨🇦

I am no longer holding my breath. I prayed Carney would win, but after the massive disappointment here in November, I wasn’t counting my chickens. Thanks are due, I suppose, to Trump for being a first-class ass and ensuring the outcome. He says the most outrageous things. I honestly think he is clinically demented. But slowly he is being deprived of potential playmates—all good.

Interesting info on that Russian general who met with an accident. His responsibilities certainly made him a focal point for anger.

I find it disturbing that the Conservative party with a leader so unqualified can get this large a share of the popular vote.

I’m glad you’re pleased! I can sleep for the first time since January, north of your border. I’m sorry the NDP vote collapsed. I’m very worried about the 40.4% of the popular vote the PP Conservatives captured. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s so much better than it could have been.

Indeed a huge sigh of relief. If there had been a different outcome, the continent itself would be at risk. Thank you to all Canadians who went full on elbows up! You've literally saved the continent from the virus plaguing the US. And cherry on the cake, Poilievre lost his seat, and may lose his party leadership position. Two thumbs up Canada!!

This is good-a relief-Carney shows that solid leadership is better than chaos…I am relieved and hope that as a US citizen he can help blunt Dumps chaotic rants!

“At their peak, the Conservatives were ahead by 25 points — an unimaginable lead. Then Donald Trump started talking — and the lead shrank. Then Trump started governing — and it shrank further. Justin Trudeau's exit, combined with Mark Carney’s elevation, pulled the anti-incumbency poison out of the Liberal brand — and cracked the momentum of the right.”

Apparently, there is light at the end of this tunnel! And right on queue, Trump takes credit for sinking the conservative chances of winning. Trump is the gift that keeps on giving. Unfortunately, his path of annihilation, and the destruction left in its wake, may still be the death of us. I truly hope I’m wrong!

Honestly, as long as democrats continue to have their collective arse’s, stuffed up their collective anus’s, we’re still SCREWED!

When will these people finally find a sense of urgency, instead of just waiting for Trump’s poll numbers to wane. We’re dealing with a bunch of useless invertebrates, while Trump and his cabal of corrupt, morally bankrupt, sadistic sociopaths, continue to lay waste to our democracy and rule of law.

And don’t get me started on Schumer and Jeffries; both just two incredible wastes of space! IMHO!…:)
