Days after withdrawing from much of Russia’s Kursk region, Ukrainian forces launched a limited cross-border counterattack into neighboring Belgorod Oblast. The operation began on the morning of March 18, targeting the villages of Demidovka, Priles’ye, and possibly Grafovka. Ukrainian units have continued operating in the area since, with Demidovka appearing to be the primary focus of the offensive.
