I wanted to open with the old saying, “Cometh the man, cometh the hour,” but you can’t say that—not yet. Not until April 29th, when Mark Carney is elected Prime Minister of Canada with a legislation-passing majority in Parliament. Everything hinges on how Canadians vote on April 28th.

If they choose the only man in modern history to lead two central banks through the storms of global financial chaos, then it won’t just be Canada that finds its footing—it’ll be the entire world that starts spinning differently.

And no, I’m not going to call that a cautious step back to safety. It’s much more than that. It’s the beginning of a new world order—one that could serve future generations far better than the one we’ve inherited.
