Rebels reach the doorstep of the highly critical Homs city. If the city falls, Russia will have to evacuate its naval and air bases in Syria.
Strategically breathtaking—that is the only way I can describe the Syrian rebels' advance. I have no idea how strong the rebel army is or what kind of combat power Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad possesses. Nobody knows for sure. But what we do know is that the rebels have advanced at a blistering pace since November 27, and they continue to push Assad out of key cities.
