Oh, man.
Do you realize the MAGA troupe isn’t even in power yet? The Speaker won’t be elected until January 3rd, and the transition from Biden to Trump won’t happen until January 20th. We haven’t even started arguing about crowd size yet.
And still, we’re already knee-deep in chaos territory. First, it was the fight over what to include or exclude in the spending bill Congress passed this week. Before we could catch our breath, another massive clash erupted over legal migrants—this time pitting the tech bros against the racists.
Gone are the days when these debates were confined to the House or Fox News. Now it’s a full-on social media brawl. The who's who of the GOP's racist faction—Steve Bannon (who once said voting should be tied to homeownership), Laura Loomer (a proud Islamophobe), and Nick Fuentes (famous for... whatever)—rallied the MAGA purity test club against immigrants. Legal or illegal, it doesn’t matter. You’ve gotta be "American," and they’ll decide who gets to call themselves that.
Elon Musk said “I will fight to my last drop of blood to ensure that it remains that land of freedom and opportunity.” Bannon responded “Bring.It.Dude—All of It.” But that wasn’t the end of it.
Bannon called Elon a toddler.
“Someone please notify ‘Child Protective Services’— need to do a ‘wellness check’ on this toddler.” - Steve Bannon
Laura Loomer took it a step further, branding the tech bros with the label we’ve all started using: “oligarchs.”
Meanwhile, Donald Trump watched the social media brawl unfold from his Mar-a-Lago sidelines. After a while, he issued his verdict. The winner? President Musk.
I’ve always liked the visas, I have always been in favor of the visas. That’s why we have them.
I have many H-1B visas on my properties. I’ve been a believer in H-1B. I have used it many times. It’s a great program — Donald Trump
Oopsie, far-right. President Musk has decisively won this round. The MAGA purity testers—who reject anyone not white or not Christian enough—came up short. They faced off against the GOP’s mega-donor class and got put in their place. The elite, who’ve lurked in the shadows for far too long, no longer feel the need to hide. Neither side—the oligarchs or the racists—sees any reason to skulk in the dark anymore. This is an open power struggle for influence over the Trump administration.
The purity testers thought they could push back and win. Instead, they got punched in the face and left licking their wounds.
The MAGA racists don’t want immigrants, period. Talented or not, they don’t care. But the tech bros understand reality. The QAnon-reading masses can’t be trained to grasp the significance of transitioning from 2170 cells to 4680 cells. The only "energy density" they understand is when you tell them to march on Capitol Hill. Sure, they can beat police officers with flagpoles, but that’s not much help when designing battery architecture.
For years, the tech bros told them college was for fools. Now they’re seeing the bitter irony as those same bros explain that even a college degree isn’t enough. We need far more than that. The disappointment on their faces is palpable. Sorry, but they’ve always been expendable—and this week was their first undeniable proof.
President Musk has scored two stunning victories this week. First, he bullied the House into submission. Now, he’s done the same to the extreme MAGA faction. Donald Trump, for his part, has played it masterfully. He didn’t step in too early, nor did he let things spiral out of control.
For Trump, anything that shifts attention away from his nominees is a win. Think about it—when was the last time we talked about his insane nominees? It’s been almost two weeks now. That’s a huge mistake. This is exactly what he wants, and we’re serving it to him on a silver platter.
The Democrats have one job: keep talking to Americans. Rally them to say no to Hegseth, no to Gabbard, no to Kash Patel, and an emphatic no to RFK Jr.
Get back in the fight, Democrats. That’s the only thing that matters.
Protect the institutions to protect the people.
Democrats who have a platform like ALL of our Reps and Senators need to flood the Capitol cable and with our viewpoint. Back to basics. Workers vs. Corps.
