I still randomly visit the ‘increasingly right-wing propaganda’ platform X—not to gain knowledge on current affairs, but to keep an eye on MAGA panic attacks. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the pro-Putin MAGA contingent started going after former Dutch Prime Minister and current NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
They want him fired immediately. Rutte riled them up by saying, "Ukraine doesn't need more ideas on what a peace process could look like." He then added more spice to his statement by emphasizing that NATO members must, "make sure Ukraine has what it needs to get to a position of strength when those peace talks start."
They must have noticed Donald Trump's Special Envoy to Ukraine and Russia, Lt. General Keith Kellogg, saying the exact same thing—with a bit more reasoning—on Fox News: “The more military support the Biden administration can send to Ukraine, the more leverage Ukraine will have in any negotiations with Russia.”
The MAGA trolls seemed to connect the dots and realized this is actually a sound proposal, one the Kremlin would dislike. Now, these average MAGA trolls want Rutte fired for trying to rally the alliance, especially Europe, to increase defense support for Ukraine.
I think it’s a bit hard for them to grasp. I totally understand their plight. When you’re marinated in propaganda from multiple directions on a daily basis, it becomes difficult to access the truth. Trump cannot wave a magic wand and replace Mark Rutte. That would require unanimous consent from all 31 NATO member states.
