“A criminal conviction in the United States, false information regarding the purpose of stay, or even a slight overstay of the visa upon entry or exit can lead to arrest, detention, and deportation,” reads the new German travel advisory—an unusually sharp warning urging its citizens to think twice before traveling to the United States.
So ask yourself: would you book a family trip to Yellowstone? Pack your kids in the car after reading stories of German citizens being detained at the airport for no clear reason? Is that risk worth it?
