As Trump Pushes Donuts and Stoves Economic Plan, White Women Flee the GOP Coalition
A six point drop in support from 2020
Yes, everything has evolved — except for one thing in the United States.
A CNN expert reporting on Donald Trump’s significant decline with white women voters mentioned that Kamala Harris is gaining traction with this crucial voting bloc. However, I believe this shift has more to do with Trump’s mental decline and his embrace of “Dark MAGA” than with Kamala Harris herself.
Of course, both factors play a role, but I think the former has weighed more heavily on voters’ minds.
If Donald Trump does manage to become the emperor, he will have a lot to be thankful for. He should thank Fox News and the two major websites that claim to be part of the fourth estate for not addressing his mental decline.
Richard John Micklethwait, Editor in Chief of Bloomberg News: Give me an example of something you will do that will get rid of government spending?
Donald Trump: We should have a new Air Force One. When we see these planes from Saudi Arabia, from different countries, brand new…The United States should have the best plane.
Micklethwait: Should Google be broken up?
Donald Trump: Virginia cleaned up its voter rolls and got rid of thousands and thousands of bad votes
Still, it would be wrong to say that Donald Trump doesn’t have an economic plan — he does. His plan is to reduce corporate tax rates from 21% to 15%. Sure, it will increase the deficit, but who cares when you have Medicare, Social Security, FEMA, and other government programs designed to help regular people? Just plunder them.
That’s their plan, and they can’t pitch it to discerning American voters. They have nothing concrete to offer the average person to inspire hope for the next four years.
Relentlessly attacking the other side, calling them the enemy, suggesting the military be used against Americans, promising one rough hour, these are all breadcrumbs scattered around for men who are searching the word ‘macho’ outside their minds.
But that doesn’t resonate with women. The “Democrats will abolish the suburbs” line didn’t work in 2020, did it? At least back then, he had a clear line of attack for women. This time, he doesn’t even offer threats to rally around.
Team Trump did make an attempt to soften Donald Trump’s image for a brief period. They tried the Black Journalists Conference, followed by a visit to Arlington Cemetery. Each effort ended in its own kind of meltdown. Then came the debate, which went so poorly that Trump is now refusing to participate in any more debates.
With just three weeks left until Election Day, and nearly 7 million Americans already having cast their votes, there’s no time left for a campaign overhaul. That window has come and gone.
Trump has lost the support of white women by six points compared to his 2020 numbers. He is most likely headed for a negative result when all the votes are counted. With three weeks remaining, his support continues to slip. The trendline suggests that Trump has a strong chance of earning fewer white women votes than Harris in 2024 — which would be quite something.
Harris is going to win the popular vote — there’s no question about that. The key, as always, will be the margins in the battleground states. Losing six or seven points with white women is going to hurt badly, and the only way Trump can make up for it is by turning out white male voters in large numbers. Since women tend to turn out more than men, Trump will need a record-breaking turnout among white men without a college degree.
A large portion of this group consists of low-propensity voters, which means he’d need an unprecedented ground game to mobilize them and cover the shortfall.
Trump has outsourced his voter turnout efforts to outside groups, also known as corporate overlords. They’re pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into supporting him. I’m actually surprised by the extent to which these groups have gone. I thought they’d shift focus to the Senate and House races, but they haven’t.
What can I say? It’s a big mistake. There’s a very real chance the GOP could lose all three — presidency, Senate, and House — in this election cycle. Things still look good for the GOP to edge out Democrats in the Senate, but with Trump hemorrhaging white women voters, I’ll be keeping a close eye on the Senate race.
The GOP earned this — 100%.
Again, you are exactly right. This will be a disastrous election for the Republicans in every field. Serves them right.
